This Sunday a group of 15 people from Journey Church will be headed to Guatemala for some mission work. This will be my first trip outside the U.S. and my first experience on the mission field. I am both excited and nervous.
Part of the reason I am going on this trip is to scout out potential projects for Journey Church to own over the next several years. Since Journey Church started, we have cast a vision for our mission to reach outside the US, but we wanted to take a very targeted approach with our mission dollars and effort. It is our hope that we can adopt a couple villages in Guatemala and make a real difference in the coming years. We hope to build feeding centers, install clean cooking devices, and bring clean water to many people.
While I am very nervous, I am excited to see first hand the potential difference Journey can make in the coming week and years. I covet your prayers.
Our team will be blogging and I hope to add some personal posts here as well. Make sure you stop back often during the week of August 10th. We’ll be returning on August 16th.
